THE FAST BOAT
Numerous speedboats operate daily from Lembongan, Sanur, Padang Bai, or Serangan to Lombok, Gili Trawangan, and Senggigi. Speedboat operators will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at one of the ports. Depending on the weather, the boat trip should take no more than 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Speedboats have an average capacity of 30 passengers and travel at 30 knots. They are all well-maintained and adhere to Western safety standards.
THE FERRY
The ferry takes 4–5 hours from Padang Bai on Bali and arrives at Lembar Port, 22 km south of Mataram on Lombok. There is a departure approximately every 90 minutes, 24 hours a day. This is by far the cheapest option for getting to the Gili Islands. Many travel agents in Kuta can help you book transportation from your hotel in Bali to Padang Bai.
